Hooray for a Long Weekend!!

Another week has come to an end! And luckily the end of this week brings an long weekend!! I don't have school Monday!! Yippee! 3 days of sleeping in for me :)

I know it's totally shallow to be excited for a holiday for the sake of no school but just admit it you were too!

So in honor of labor day, I'm linking up again for Friday's Fancies and created an end of summer outfit! I really wish I could be rocking this look at the beach somewhere but in reality I'll probably studying somewhere. Boo! :(
Friday's Fancies

This should come as no surprise to you that I picked this color combo. It screams summer and ocean breezes. I love the flowyness of the top and the turquoise stones on the shoes and ring. A bit matchy matchy but I like it :) Then with the clutch and straw fedora...*sigh*

In other news, my mom broke her tibia and fibula on Thursday from tripping in super unstable heels. I've told her not to wear these particular heels because she doesn't know how to walk in them. Luckily for me, I learned how to teach people how to walk with crutches in school last week so she will be my practice patient for a while. She will be seeing an orthopedist in the morning so we'll see what the verdict is.

I know this picture isn't the greatest but you can see a thin dark line in the left bone(Tibia) and there is another similar line on the right bone(fibula) that is harder to see with this picture(it's a picture of a photocopied x-ray).

What are you doing this long weekend? Any fun plans? Don't wear huge heels whatever you do!

Past few days

Is it really Monday again?! That came wayyyyy to soon! So a lot has been going on with me so here's what's been up with me. :)

Thursday, as you all know by now, was my first day of orientation for PT School at USC.
This photo was taken at 6 am and my camera obviously isn't good at taking mirror pictures, hence why I look like a creep. This was prior to make-up... I swear I ended up looking cute!

Starbucks was very necessary! My grande soy latte helped get me to school. And I got there an hour an a half early!!! Apparently there is no traffic in LA at 6am. lol After school, having dinner with about 15 classmates, and driving home I was pooped! And of course had to get up again the next day. Luckily Friday's orientation was a few hours shorter!

Saturday I went to lunch to catch up with a friend then bought some new running shoes. I don't know about you but when it's time for new shoes I feel it in my knees. I believe in getting shoes from a running shoe store and my favorite is A Snail's Pace.
I went with Brooks Ghost 4. My feet feel the best in Brooks shoes especially Ghosts, I've had 3 out of the 4 models. Ascics is my next favorite but Brooks are definitely my tried and true shoe. And they keep getting prettier! :)

Sunday was spent getting everything put together for school. Aka running around like a crazy woman. :)

How was your weekend? Do anything fun?!

Weekend Update

I realized on Sunday that it would be that last Sunday that was NOT a school night! It kind of bummed me out for a little but besides that I had a great weekend!

The boyfriend was at a Fitness convention in LA for 4 days, IdeaWorld Conference. And he won the "Boyfriend of the Year" award because he got APOLO OHNO'S AUTOGRAPH for me!!!!! That man of mine bought me Apolo's book and had him sign it for me! I'm soooo excited! I'm not one of those crazy Olympian fans but I love Apolo! Can't wait to read his book!
Yup he signed it!!
Apolo and boyfriend
He was pretty tired after the conference...lol
Saturday was eventful! I went on my first ever blate (blog date) with Meg from henning love. It was so great to officially meet her and get to know her more. We met up at Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen in Old Town Orange. If you love Mexican food, then you will LOVE this place!! Yum! I'm so glad Meg suggested it because I will definitely be back.

After lunch and chatting a bunch we browsed some of Old Town's shopping. If you're an antique lover then you'll really enjoy the shops. I'm not quite there yet and don't appreciate antiques as much as I know I will later but they had some cool stuff!
If you have an opportunity to meet a blogging bestie, definitely take it! It was funny because even though we didn't really know each other we still had a lot to talk about since we knew things from blogging. I really enjoyed our blate and hope school isn't too crazy so we can meet up again.

Then Sunday was mainly spent clearing out my wardrobe and getting rid of clothes I don't wear, don't fit, and don't remember when I wore last. I was amazed at how much I got rid of and how much room I have now of clothes I actually like! I'm hoping this will help me get out of the "I have nothing to wear" funk. If you're going through this too I recommend reading What I Wore.
.
2 huge trash bags full of cloths and a bag of shoes(don't worry they were cheap
Sunday night I went with the boyfriend to his work banquet. It was nice to put names with faces and meet his work friends. He even received a "most outstanding" award voted by his peers. I'm very proud of him!
I'm starting to get pretty nervous for school! Thursday and Friday I have orientation with my new classmates so it's getting close!!  Eeeeek!

Did you have a good weekend? Anything fun?!
Have you every met a blogger friend in person?

Friday's Fancies: Seeing Red

It's finally Friday again! I hope everyone's week went well and that you're excited for another Friday's Fancies with {av} from {long distance loving}. This week's theme is all about RED. I really do love this color so this week's theme was easy for me. I wanted to push my proverbial 'envelope' but once I saw this dress I couldn't not use it. Maybe next week I'll go out of my comfort zone again...

seeing red

Does anyone else think of Pippa Middleton's dress from her sis's wedding when looking at this red number?

Every girl should have a LBD but for me a LRD(little red dress) is my go-to dress. Maybe it's my blonde hair and skin tone but a bright red just works for me. And since the theme is red, I of course had to use Loubs for shoes with the signature red bottoms.

A pretty red outfit just aches to be paired with gold jewelry/accessories. I use a lot of gold when on Polyvore but in real life I wear more silver. Once I get a nice gold watch then I think that will change, since I only have a silver one right now.

I'm pretty excited for this weekend because I'm going on my first ever blate(blog date)!! Meg from henning love and I are going to meet for lunch and maybe some shopping? I couldn't be more excited to officially 'meet' her! Tune in Monday for pictures!

Doing anything fun this weekend?

Blake Shelton!

On Friday my boyfriend and I went to see Blake Shelton at the Orange County Fair. It was so much fun and if you ever get a chance to see him live then I highly recommend it. He is such a great performer and was so funny.

What I really love about country music artists is that they sound the same in concert as they do on the CDs, unlike most of the pop synthesized crap that's out now. Don't get me wrong though! I love blasting that music but it just isn't the same in concert.

We had to take pictures before heading to the concert, of course!
The sun was very bright!
Yup, I decided to brave wearing boots and shorts. Aren't my knees sexy? :-p
Mom sucks at taking photos and didn't tell us boyfriend's face had stripes...
Before heading to the concert we went to dinner at Sharkey's Woodfired Mexican Grill. A big plate of nachos with organic ingredients sounded much better than fried anything at the fair.
When we got to the fair we walked around a bit. Neither of us had been there for many years and it was definitely different. Or maybe I'm paying more attention now. There was so much emphasis on food! Like wow! Their new thing this year is fried KoolAid balls...needless to say I didn't try it. But I did get an over priced $10 beer but it was good and kept me warm because genius here didn't bring a jacket...
Then the concert started!! We had seats in the back row but not in the grass. I tried to take the best pictures I could but my camera doesn't zoom well. It's shock/drop proof up to 5 feet(perfect for me) and waterproof but it just doesn't zoom much.
A few special guests came out to perform too!! Made my night even better!
Xenia from the Voice came out!!!
DIA FRAMPTON!! Love her!
He even sang one of his new songs "God Gave Me You" which was amazing!!

We had so much fun and I'd love to see him again! Even my man, who isn't a country fan, enjoyed the show!  He definitely puts on a good show and it's obvious he loves performing!

Anyone else have a good weekend?! Anything exciting?!

Blake Shelton concert!!

Thank goodness it's Friday, which means it's time to link up with {av} from {long distance loving} for Friday's Fancies.

Now before you judge me on my Friday's Fancies outfit you should know tonight I'm going to Blake Shelton's concert at the Orange County Fair with my boyfriend! Yes, he deserves as an award for agreeing to go.

I'm beyond excited to go and am secretly hoping that Dia Frampton will open for him, even though it's highly unlikely.

Even though it's the most affordable outfit I've created thus far, I chose this outfit because I wish I'd be able to pull it off successfully but know in reality I never could(and look good at the same time). If I was at least 6 inches taller and had super skinny legs then I'd probably wear this without hesitation.

Alas, I am only 5'1"(...in the morning...) and have athletic runner's legs so this outfit would make me look like a tree stump with a cowboy hat. Not quite the look I go for... But here it is! A girl can dream

Blake Shelton concert

^^Don't forget to "like" my outfit! :) ^^

I really love the boots and bag. And you'd probably never catch me in those shorts unless I had twigs for legs. Though you may catch me in the top because I recently purchased from H&M and I'll probably end up wearing it tomorrow night. :)

I'm ready to get my country on! Yeeeeehaww!

I'll post pictures come Monday!

Anyone have any fun weekend plans? Going to any fun concerts this summer?

Weekend Recap!

This past weekend was nice and relaxing. I'm trying to enjoy as many of them as I can before school starts and then my weekends will consist of studying a bunch and trying to keep my sanity.

On a hunt at night for the perfect dessert my boyfriend and I decided to stop by one of our favorite restaurants Lazy Dog Cafe.  It happened to be happy hour so we decided to get some drinks at the bar.
The boyfriend got some pizza and we shared a dessert which of course I forgot to take a picture of! I was working on my 2nd pink lemonade drop martini...oops! It was chocolaty and peanut buttery though! It was pretty fun people watching and talking to others at the bar who were also people watching.

Saturday I did some shopping with mom, we didn't get anything exciting enough to report though. After that I waited for my man to get back from work so we could do "Cheeseburger Saturday."

Yup, you read right Cheeseburger Saturday! I eat pretty well during the week but during the weekend I need at least one greasy meal complete with french fries. So we went to In 'N Out. It did not disappoint.

Then on Sunday I putz around the house for most of the day and made some cookies. Bethenny Frankel's Oatmeal Banana Chocolate Chip cookies. I've made them a few times and they are just sooooo good! Also, healthy and filling! I also have come to the conclusion that all the cookies I make look like turds when photographed but they taste delicious! These are a must try!
Did you do anything fun this past weekend? Was it a relaxing weekend or super busy?
