I have to admit I had a hard time making this week's outfit but I was determined to make one while sticking to the theme. Given my lack of height, I normally don't wear maxis but I'm learning to step outside my comfort zone. Mainly because at Nordstrom a few months ago I was looking for summer dresses and I had the best sales lady I've ever had there! She pulled a bunch of dresses while I was browsing and paired them with belts and such. I ended up buying a maxi that I never would have tried on if she hadn't pulled it. Now I'm becoming a maxi believer.
Don't you love this dress? It's so light and airy. Perfect for summer fun!
I have yet to add more maxis to my wardrobe but I'm planning on getting more. I wanted to buy one last week but had to save money for school stuff. Lame!! Though when I do get more maxi you better believe I will be pairing them with sky high heels!
That's when my 5" NineWest wedges come to the rescue. That way I look taller and don't have to hem them haha!
Anyone doing anything fun this weekend?
So far I have no big plans but I do want to start adding more miles to my runs for my 3rd half marathon in October. I have a really hard time getting up early to beat the heat though so I end up having to run later in the day. It's still pretty hot around 5:30. Maybe I'll have more luck Saturday or Sunday.

I love that dress! I bought my first maxi dress this summer too! At 5'2 I have avoided them completely. But I bought one from express and belted it, and it is one of my favorite summer evening outfits now!

Pretty much obsessed with this whole look!! I ADORE maxi dresses to the extreme! I'm only 5'2", but I pair my maxis with big ol' wedges and it all works out fine. love every single piece in this outfit! i have to admit, i never follow what the theme is for the friday's fancies, but i like up because i was already doing a friday outfit thing for awhile. ha. :) love seeing what everyone pulls together though. i think this is my favorite.
